I have gone to Professor Kochhar for several years for help in managing joint problems. He has been thorough, cautious and responsive. For my series of injections, Professor Kochhar has proceeded with small amounts, and only proceeded to larger amounts, and eventually radiology-assisted procedures, in response to my specific symptoms. Although surgery has been discussed, Professor Kochhar has never pushed surgery but rather presented it as an option. We have worked together on pain management strategies short of surgery, which has better matched my London lifestyle and work requirements.

Our team of consultant orthopaedic surgeons have extensive experience in the treatment of a wide range of conditions including:
Rotator cuff repair
Many rotator cuff tears do not need surgery and the first step in treatment is usually conservative measures. Where surgery is required, major repairs can be carried out arthroscopically (keyhole surgery), as a day-case procedure.
Ankle fractures
An ankle fracture is a break in one or more bones that make up the ankle joint. Sometimes ligaments may also be damaged. Treatment varies and will depend on the type and severity of the injury.
Osteonecrosis of the knee
Osteonecrosis is a condition in which a section of bone dies because of lack of blood supply to it. It is one of the most common causes of knee pain in older women. Consultants at City Ortho have expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
Acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) separation
A shoulder separation is a common injury, especially in certain sports. Most shoulder separations are injuries to the acromioclavicular joint. City Ortho consultants can successfully treat this injury with non-surgical treatment or reconstruction surgery.
Osteoarthritis
City Ortho consultants treat a range of arthritis conditions including osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down over time. Symptoms can be effectively managed with lifestyle changes, physiotherapy, medication and surgery in some cases.
